Mon weekend Londonien #1

Voilà maintenant 3 ans et demi que je tiens ce blog, et je n'ai jamais eu l'idée de faire un article sur la visite de Londres en un weekend. Pourtant, ce n'est pas faute d'avoir mon petit tour organisé pour mes amis , qui n'a pas beaucoup changé depuis 2009... Quoique que je suis un peu obligée de me renouveler maintenant. J'ai donc décidé de me lancer dans une petite série de posts sur des weekends/journées à Londres et révéler mes petites visites secretes.

Je vais donc commencer ça dans l'ordre et presenter un premier weekend pour les personnes qui ne connaissent absolument pas Londres.

Well, now it has been 3 1/2 years I have this blog and I have never had the idea to write an article on "weekends in London". It is not as if I haven't had any "London tours" for all my friends though. Ok it hasn't really changed since 2009 but I am trying to renew it as people gets tired of it. 
I have therefore decided to create a posts serie of weekends/days in London and share with you my secret visits.

I am going to start from the beginning and give a first tour for people who have never been in London before.

1er jour - From East to West 

Commencez par l'Est, a la station Liverpool Street. Vous pouvez faire votre premier arret au Breakfast Club, sur Old Artillery Ground, pour un bon petit déjeuner Anglais (je vous conseille d'arriver assez tot) .
Puis dirigez vous vers Tower Hill en passant par Spitalfields Market et Leadenhall Market pour admirer sa superbe architecture.

Start at Liverpool Street station. You can your first stop at Breakfast Club, on Old Artillery Ground, for a nice English breakfast (I would advise to arrive early). Then go towards Tower Hill via Spitalfields Market and Leadenhall Market  to admire its beautiful architecture.

Arrivé a Tower Hill, vous aurez une belle vue sur le chateau, la tamise et Tower Bridge. Faites un petit tour et profitez-en pour prendre quelques photos. Dirigez-vous, ensuite, vers le Tower Bridge Pier et prenez un bateau qui vous amenera jusqu'au London Eye. Sur le chemin, vous pourrez observer Londres d'Est en Ouest en passant par le London Bridge, Tate Modern, Millenium Bridge, Saint Paul, Southbank, puis arrivée sous London Eye avec Westminster sur la droite.

When you get to Tower Hill, you can now see the castle, the Thames and Tower Bridge (and take some pictures). Then head towards to Tower Hill Pier to take the boat for a stroll on the Thames to London Eye. Here, you will see London from East to West with London Bridge, Saint Paul, Tate Modern, Millenuim Bridge, Southbank, Wesminster and London Eye.

- Under the London Eye -

Vous pourrez ensuite traverser le pont avec une superbe vue sur Wesminster and Big Ben. Dirirgez vous ensuite vers St James Park et vous decrouvrirez un des plus beaux parcs de Londres.
Vous arrivez ensuite devant Buckingham Palace et peut etre avoir la chance d'apercevoir la reine (ca n'arrive pas souvent...).

Once under London Eye, you can cross the bridge to have a beautiful view on Wesminster and Big Ben. Then, go to St James Park to discover one of the most beautiful gardens in London. At the end of the park, you can see Buckingham Palace and maybe see the Queen (no risk, it's never happening).

Remontez ensuite The Mall pour arriver a Trafalgar Square et sa fameuse colonne de Nelson.
Apres cette longue traversée (c'est pas si long en fait), vous meriterez bien un bon burger dans Soho! Je vous conseille d'aller faire un tour chez Honest Burger (le meilleur pour moi). En sortant, allez faire un tour a Covent Garden ou diriger vous vers l'ouest pour aller faire un tour a Portobello market et vous perdre dans le quartier de Notting Hill. Allez-y en fin de journée pour éviter le monde.

Walk back up The Mall to arrive at Trafalgar Square and its famous Nelson's column.After this long walk (it is not as long actually), you deserve a good burger in Soho. I highly recommend to go to Honest Burger (the best one for me). After you can have a walk around Covent Garden and go to West to Portobello Market and get lost in Notting Hill area. I would recommend to go at the end of the afternoon to avoid the crowd of the day.

Pour le soir, repartez dans l'East End pour un bon repas chez Pizza East, pizzeria hype de Shoreditch, et continuez la soirée en haut de la Heron Tower soit chez Sushi Samba, soit chez Duke & Wafles; les deux ont un cote bar et la vue est juste terrible!

For the evening, go back to the East End for a nice dinner at Pizza East, hype pizzeria of Shoreditch, and continue the evening at the top of the Heron Tower either at Sushi Samba or Duke & Wafles. Both've got a bar side and the view is just amazing!

2e jour - From North London to South

Apres une soiree de folie dans l'East End, aller faire un tour en fin de matinee a Camden Town pour manger dans le marche, il y a en a pour tous les gouts. Vous pouvez faire un petit tour dans le marché puis prenez les bords du canal vers l'ouest direction Primrose Hill. La balade est tres sympa et vous permet de passer au milieu du Zoo de Londres. Sortez ensuite pour rejoindre Primrose Hill d'ou vous admirerez une vue imprenable de Londres. Ce parc est egalement tres sympa pour les pique-niques en été.

After a crazy night in the East End, go to have a walk at Camden town to have lunch in the market, there is food for every taste. Go for a round in the market and then walk alongside the canal towards West towards Primrose Hill. The walk is very nice and you can walk through the London Zoo. Go out then to join Primrose Hill where you can see a very nice view of London. This park is also nice for Summer picnics.

Redescendez pour traverser Regent Park et rejoindre Baker Street, Marylebone High Street et  Oxford Street pour une seance de shopping en fin de journee (si vous en avez encore la force).

Walk down to join Regent Park and cross it to get back to Baker Street, Marylebone High Street and Oxford street for a late shopping session (if you still have the strength).

Apres c'est deux jours charges, vous aurez deja eu un bon apercu de Londres... il ne vous reste plus qu'a revenir pour connaitre la ville plus en details.
After this 2 busy days, you'd have had a good high level view of London... now you will have to come back to discover the City in more details.
